Insanity aggravates (www.charter97.org)

The Savetski district court of Gomel took an unprecedented in Belarus decision on June 27.
The court found activist Peter Philon guilty in committing an administrative offence under article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences (violation of rules of organizing or holding a mass event or a picket). The ground for the violation was an invitation to his friends on social networking site VKontakte to meet near the monument to international soldiers in Gomel at 7 in the evening on June 27.
The court said this violated the order of organizing a mass event and fined the activist 3 basic units (105,000 Belarusian rubles), BelaPAN learnt from the Savetski district court of Homel.
“As I remember, Pyotr made this post on the social networking site on Saturday. A district police officer burst into his flat on Monday on the pretext music was too loud in the house. The guy was guarded to a police department, where a report was made up. Then he was taken to court. Peter also appealed KGB officers on the social network. He called not to disturb him and create troubles for him and other people adding that he planned to quit. He apparently had problems at work. Maybe, his appeal to the secret services gave a reason to detain him,” regional leader of For Freedom movement Peter Kuznyatsou told BelaPAN.
